Color Challenge with Chic Tags

Happy Sunday folks! We have a new color challenge on the Chic Tags blog today, I just love the color palette that was picked. The DT has done some amazing layouts, I really love how each one of them interpreted the color palette to complement their own scrapping style.

My layout is a bit more dark than usual but I really wanted to focus on using the sea glass green that was part of the color palette. I paired with Chic Tags products from the Everyday Life II collection and Crate Paper's The Pier collection.

I still love the Prima polka dot template that I recently received in a Hip2BSquare kit, I've been using is on almost every projects Ive created this past month. I added a small cluster of tags and some enamel dots to bring a punch of color to the layout.

I hope you will join us on the Chic Tags blog --->color challenge, you have until the end of October to participate to win a $20 gc! So come on over and check it out.

Big & Med with Jillibean Soup

Hello! I'm back today with a layout for Jillibean Soup using the new Cold Avocado Soup, I love the colour palette of this collection. I paired it with the new white chevron Placemats, which I also used as a mask for the arrows on the lower part of my layout.

I added paper under the chevron, then afterward stitched down the middle of each chevrons. Loved working with the Pea Pods parts, they are ideal for creating little clusters.

As mentioned above, I used a portion of the chevron placemat as a mask. I just love the effect this creates. The ampersand was cut using my Cameo Silhouette.

Together Time with Chic Tags

Today is a good day. I'm sharing my first tutorial on the Chic Tags blog. I decided to embelish the journaling card using DMC floss. It's a quick way to add a fun detail to an already fabulous card. All the details on my process is on the Chic Tag blog, I hope you'll stop by.

Another fun technique that I used on this layout is layering masks, first I used the Prima polka dot 12x12 mask with gold Mister Huey mist. Once that was dried I used a portion of the Jillibean Soup placemat with dewey Mister Huey mist. I really like the subtle, yet fun effect this creates.

I paired the Chic Tags with Crate Paper's On Trend collection. I recently found a small paper pad at Winners and boy was I happy to come across this treasure. I've been on the hunt for this collection for a long time, I was happy to finally have it.

Noted with Hip Kits

Happy Monday folks and happy Fall! We are very happy that Fall is upon us, its our favourite season and we are already enjoying the cooler weather, outings to the apple orchard and cozy sweaters.

Today I'm sharing my last layout created with the August Hip2BSquare, this layout is full of layers. I used lots of my favorite items from this kit, the CP frames, the Heidi Swapp letters and that adorable bicycle embellishment.

This close up really shows the layers and dimension this layout has, lots of foam dots were used in the making of this layout.

The little bicycle by American Crafts was so very perfect for the pictures of my middle dd with her new bike. It was actually the source of inspiration for this layout, everything was built and designed around that little bicycle.

Happy Together with HipKits

Happy Friday friends, I'm back today with another layout created with the August Hip2BSquare hip kit. I struggled at first with this layout, but once I pulled out the chevron cut, it all came together pretty quickly. Funny how one small item can change the design for the better. I layered the chevron velum paper on top of the teal cardstock, love the subtle effect it created.

I always cut multiple files with my Cameo, this way I always have shapes on hand and ready to use. Once the file was misted and layered with pattern paper, I layered stickers and chipboard shapes to create a focal point on my layout.

Hope you have a lovely weekend and have time to go out and enjoy the great outdoors, I just love this time of the year.

More Hip Kit cards and another bonus

Here I am again with another blog post, good thing that these can be schedule in advance. :) Today I'm back with more cards and another preview of an upcoming Hip2BSquare kit. Both of these cards were created with leftovers from layouts I created with the August kit. I absolutely loved the Prima 12x12 polka dot mask that was included in the kit, it is so fun to use and versatile, one of my fave mask I've played with in a long time.

Kimberly has released a surprise this week, the October kit and it's stunning. Perfect for all those Fall pictures I love to take but also perfect for those everyday events. It will be listed in the store in the weeks ahead, hope you will check it out!

Week 35 with Jillibean Soup

Happy hump day! Today I'm sharing week 35 that I created for Jillibean Soup. This week I focused mainly on using white cardstock, alpha stickers, diecuts and washi tape. I had a lot of pictures to showcase for week 35 so I wanted to keep the embellishments to a minimum.

Lots of close ups are available on the Jillibean Soup blog.

Hip Kit Cards with a bonus

Hello friends! Today I would like to share some cards I created with the August Hip2BSquare Hip Kit. My approach to creating cards is to treat them like I would create a layout, lots of layers, stamping, mist and title. By following this approach I've cut back my time in half when it comes to creating it cards.

Kimberly has recently posted the September Hip Kit and it's gorgeous. I'm so lucky to be designing for such an awesome lady, I just love her kits. I've said it before, but if you are looking for a new kit company you must check out Hip2BSquare, always the hottest products, simply amazing and the price is very competitive. Here's the main kit for September, told ya it was awesome. :)

Rockin with Hip Kit

Happy Friday Folks, I'm back today to share another layout created with the August Hip2BSquare kit. Love the versatility of this kit, the Heidi Swapp letters are fabulous. My oldest has a fabulous a new short do, just love that look on her, she's totally rockin it.

Again I've piled on the layers of paper and included some of the velum paper. I used the banner pennants as arrows, thought that was a very fun way to use them as accents.

Stitching the Heidi Swapp letters was very simple, I just added a bit of adhesive and was able to stitch them on.

Laugh with Hip Kit

Today I'm sharing a layout created with the August Hip2BSquare kit. I just love the mix of bright and subtle pattern papers. I'm in a pastel kind of mood lately, so I opted to create a soft feminine layout of Bri.

Using the polka dot template in the kit and Mister Huey mist I created a fun polka dot pattern on my cardstock. Love the soft effect this created.

The journaling was written directly on the picture, then I framed the picture using some embellishments and the number 5, i love the Heidi Swapp letters.

The Crate Paper chipboard frames have to be one of my favourite scrap item I've used in a long time. Love using them with pictures but also to layer embellishments.

Here & Now with Chic Tags

I was so very happy to have my first layout up on the Chic Tags blog, thanks to everyone that stopped by to leave me some love, it was so appreciated. I wanted to share my page on my blog, I really had a blast creating with it and if you haven't had a chance to check out Chic Tags I recommend you do. The collections are so versatile, trendy and really fun to work with.

I combined the Everyday Life II collection with Fancy Pants papers, Studio Calico Mister Huey and mask. I layered the journaling tags with various embellishments. Love the soft effect of this page.

> TO < with Chic Tags

Happy Sunday folks, I rarelly blog on the weekends but today is special, it's my first time taking part in the Sunday Challenge on the Chic Tags blog! Today we have an awesome sketch challenge, I was very excited to be playing along! You can see the full reveal on the Chic Tags blog, right here

This layout features the Road Trip Collection, which is perfect to go along with our summer trip pictures of Toronto. I've used very little pattern paper on this layout, I preferred using the ATC cards and Tags to layer with my pictures.

I used one of the Mini Tags for the journaling with a tag from the Everyday Life II collection, the Amy Tan brad was a perfect accent along with a Studio Calico veneer camera. One of my favorite part of creating a layout is putting together little clusters of embellishments.

This little cluster was created using the Road Trip Icon set and pairing it with a flair button and veneer car. This was such a fun a layout to create, I hope you will have time to join us on the Chic Tags blog to play along to our sketch challenge.

Jillibean Soup Kinda of Day!

Happy Friday folks! I've had a couple of projects up on the Jillibean Soup blog this week. First up my PL spread, I was caught up but now I've fallen behind again, sigh! Week 32 was super busy, there is a lot of pictures and very little journaling.

This layout features the new Christmas Chowder collection. I love the non traditional color combo and the new diecuts are adorable.

I layered the pictures with diecuts, label stickers and new wise words. I just love the caption in the speech bubble and was immediately drawn to it.

After using mist to create splatters and stamping random snowflakes, I stitched on my layout a diecut piece from the same collection.

Week 31

Drive-by post today to share week 31. My color palette is muted with gold accents, I think this has to be one of my fave combo and PL spread. Lots of journaling which really makes me happy. Fun pictures of my girl with her new bike make this spread even more special.
