W.C.S. September Gallery

I just can't believe that it's already the time for the September reveal on Write.Click.Scrapbook. Time sure does fly by. This month our challenge was to create a color palette, I used one of my favorite combo of grey, orange paired with navy.  The full details of my color palette and layout are on the W.C.S website.

I used  mostly October Afternoon products on this layout, various lines mixed together. This is just a fun layout about, just a little glimpse of what I like about summer.

If you use my color palette to create a layout please make sure to leave a message with a link, I would love to see what you create.

Week 30

A quick Friday post to share week 30, love the soft color palette of this spread. Again this is another spread with less pictures and a lot of journaling, this is my process when I am low on pics for a week, I include a lot of journaling. I mostly used past SC kits and some embellishments from my personal stash. Hope you have a lovely long weekend.

Week 29

Hello friends, today I'm sharing week 29, this week includes a lot of journaling and a mix of Studio Calico PL kits. I especially love the cards in the SC kits that can be used either vertically or horizontally, extra bang for your buck.

29 weeks into my 2013 PL and I still love it. Love how I can document our day to day, how I can satisfy my need to play with paper and I love looking through my album and seeing our life.

Monday Cards

Thought I'd start this week by sharing a couple more cards I created with the July Hip Kit. I combined some Cameo cuts I had in my supplies with the embellishments in the kit.  Both cards are similar in design but the background and embellishments make these cards stand apart.  I always make sure to have extra Cameo cuts on hand, its really handy when creating projects.

You & Me

Happy Friday friends, today I would like to share a couple of projects I created for Jillibean Soup. Both projects feature the awesome Chilled Cucumber Soup collection, which features one of my fave color combo, yellow, grey and teal. Love!! The honeycomb placemat is fabulous, I loved adding pattern papers to create a fun background. Of course I added some stitching, stamping and misting. The title cut was purchased from the Silhouette store and cut using American Crafts glitter paper, my fave!

My vision was to have butterflies "flying" out from underneath the picture, the diecuts were the perfect item to achieve this look. The process was rather simple, once my picture was down, I just started to tuck in and layer the die cuts until I was happy with the result.

I added some stamps and sequins to the embellishments, the Chilled Cucumber stamp are totally adorable and so versatile!

I had a bit of the honeycomb placemat leftover so I decided to use it to create a card. I paired it with the stamps from the same collection, makes for a quick and lovely card.

Joy

Today I'm sharing my last layout created with the July Hip kit, how I loved that kit. The colors, the embellishments, it was all perfect and so much fun to work with. I used mostly scraps of paper on this layout, love the little touches of black it really pops off the page against the white background. Although you can't see it very well on the picture, I stitch a frame around the picture, I think that I need gold thread, it would have been much better than white.

I used a cut file to create the ticket stub, then I crinkled the velum paper to give it a distress look and added stitching, makes a fun accent.

I wanted to add a bit of gold on this layout, so using a Studio Calico mask I applied Versamark to a couple of rows of the triangle mask and embossed American Crafts gold embossing powder.  I had to use the Lucky Charm paper tag, its just too adorable to pass up.

Home

I'm back today with another project created with the July Hip Kit. We recently visited a Heritage Museum and one of the house reminded me of my great grand-mother house up north. The feel of the house was the same, it was fun showing the girls how things were done back then, how the house was heated of the stove furnace, the entertainment was a black and white tv. It was special, of course we had to take a picture on the front porch.

I created this layout using the July Hip kit, the woodgrain paper was perfect for the homey feeling I was trying to achieve. I added layers to frame the pictures and embellishments on both sides for fun accents.

You'll notice that I added a sheet a velum over the orange pattern paper, it creates a softer effect on the pattern paper. The Fancy Pants camera is one of my favourite embellishment Ive used in a long time, I wish they would create a package full of these cute cameras.

July Hip Kit - Cards

Hello friends, today I'm sharing a couple of cards that I created with the July Hip Kit. The concept for creating both these cards is pretty similar (patterned paper on 1/4 portion of the card, cluster of embellishment in the middle and mist) but the end result is different. I love how a good design concept can result in very different cards.

Both these cards mostly feature October Afternoon latest release Travel Girl, I just love the color palette and versatility of this collection. Of course I used more ephemera bits, I could use these on every single project I create, they are such accent to any design. Love how companies create these little packages of goodies!

Be True To Who You Are

I love this saying, of course I was so very excited to come across it in the Silhouette store. I usually cut a lot of shapes at once, that way I don't have to turn on my Cameo every time I scrap, so I've had this cut out for a while now and was waiting for the right picture to come along to use it. It is perfect for Danika, she's a very strong outgoing little girl, she's at a point in her life that friends are really important, for the first time ever she cannot wait for school to start, I think its because she wants to see her friends, but this quote was very fitting for her at this moment.

To create this layout I used the July Hip Kit, filled with wonderful Fancy Pants, October Afternoon and  Studio Calico products. I mixed a lot of the manufacturers on this layout, that's a sign of a good kit, when all the products truly work together. Kimberly is a genius at creating kits.

The title was cut out on white cardstock, I painted on Mister Huey mist to modify the color, mist is really easy and fun to use as paint. I layered the papers and pile on the embellishments. I also love the October Afternoon stamp that features glasses and a lovely quote, again perfect for my Danika.

Week 27

Happy Monday friends! This blog post features week 27 which I created for Jillibean Soup. Week 27 was fun, we celebrated Canada Day, we had a lot of activities so they took up most of the space in my spread. I also tried a new format of page protectors (to the right) and I really like the creative options it offers. I was able to feature more pictures because of this new design (new to me, I know it's been out for a while). If you would like to see more detailed pictures, please hop on over to the Jillibean Soup blog, I did post a lot of details and close ups.

My World

How about I share a layout today?! I thought it was about time that I share a layout, the past blog posts have been pretty heavy with PLs. Today's layout was created with the awesome July Hip Kit which features a lot of October Afternoon Travel Girl collection. This layout featured the ephemera pack by October Afternoon, I just love all the tidbits in that pack, I never get tired of ephemera packs.

I decided to layer the various cards in the ephemera pack to create a fun interesting background to the pictures. The bottom part of the layout is rather simple as I thought I had plenty going on top, I didn't want to "pile" on too much stuff. I also added random embellishments and stitching to the cards, I just adds a little bit more interest to the background without overwhelming the design.

If you like what you see may I suggest that you check out the Hip2BSquare kit club, the kits are fabulous, lots of embellishments and papers. If you are in the market for a kit club, this is one to check out!!!

Week 26

Hello friends, I'm back today with another instalment of PL. Week 26 was created with a mix of Studio Calico kits. I especially love the accent cards that feature cute quotes, like the "the good life" card below.  I really could get carried away and use a lot of those cards on my spreads. My mom took the girls strawberry picking and she remembered to take pictures, gotta love her!!! It was the first week of vacation, so it was a quiet one, the girls were relaxing. :)

Happy Wishes

Today, I'm taking a moment to share this card which was created for Jillibean Soup. I misted the white cardstock using a studio calico mask and gold mist. Then layered the diecuts with corrugated butterflies. I altered a clothespin using a sugar pick, I removed the resin flower off the pick and glued it to the clothespin, love how it adds a punch of color to my card. The "happy" was stamped using the Sweet and Sour Soup stamp. I think the result is lovely and really could be suited to anyone, a very versatile card.

Week 25

Life is moving so quickly, summer is almost to an end and yesterday we celebrated Bri's 5th birthday, we had a wonderful day with family, my girl was happy, my heart was full.

Here's week 25, there's actually another page protector in between these pages to showcase all the pictures from our family photo shoot. It was a busy week, so much going on with end of school and family pictures. I keep the embellishments to a minimum and only did handwritten journaling, this was a fast spread. Kept a simple design because I'm a bit behind and really wanted to catch up. I used mostly bits and pieces from some Studio Calico kits mixed with random items. I'll back with more PL spreads later this week.

Good Co.!

Happy Friday! I'm so excited to be sharing my first layout for Write.Click.Scrapbook. The gallery was live yesterday, you can see it here WCS Gallery and I'm blown away by all the amazing layouts the team created.  Our challenge this month was based on creating a layout that reflect our "go to design", as you can see I created a layout that is very "me".  I do explain my process on the WCS website.

I used the awesome Hey You collection by Basic Grey, it is one of my fave BG release. I paired it with a CP paper for my background, which I embellished with chevron misted circles. Love the subtle effect of those circles.

I used a Silhouette cut file as a background to my title. I used a mist to color the cut file, I was going for a ombre color but that didn't really work out as I had planned. It's ok because I still like the result. I hope you'll take a moment to check out the gallery.

Happy long weekend to all my Canadian friends and followers.

Currently

It's a new month, I just can't believe how fast time is flying, but I say this every month! LOL! Today I'm sharing my first August project for Jillibean Soup. I used the Irish Farm House Soup collection paired with a background paper from the Chilled Cucumber Soup collection. I altered the background using gold mist and a mask I created with my Cameo. I love larger size masks, they are a fun way to alter cardstock or pattern paper.

Layering and stitching, two of the techniques I love best. Ok along with misting. HA! I decided to pair alot of different elements to create a small cluster.

The medium size tag was embellished using washi tape I had on hand along with a flair badge and other Jillibean Soup embellishments. I love the chevron stamp that I used at the bottom of the tag. The title was cut using my Cameo and a cut file from the Silhouette store.
