Oh My Heart!!

I love how my iphone has enable me to take pictures that I would
not necessarily take, just like this one. I was trying to get Alexia to
nap, which can be challenging, so we layed down in my bed, I
always have my phone in case school calls for the big girls, anyways,
as Alexia was drifting off to sleep, she reached for me, of course
that tiny hand touching my face made my heart melt. I'm so glad
I got to capture that moment, this is priceless. I love my iphone,
I love how it's changing the way I scrapbook!! I just wish I
would have made the switch sooner, now I just need to one for Dan!

There are lots of layers on this layout. I used Studio Calico's November
kit, Sock Hop and add on. I used another one of those polaroid
cut from the Silhouette store, love these. For the very first time in a long
time, I didn't add any stitching to the layout and I'm totally ok with that.

Hello Delightful Fall

Today I'm sharing a layout I created for Jillibean Soup. I used lots of
various Cameo cuts on here, which paired beautifully with the Jillibean
Soup collection. Of course I'm still scrapping pictures from our trip to NYC
in 2011, what can I say we had a blast.

I wanted to stamp random circles throughout the layout but didn't have
a stamp that would work for this, so using the end of thread bobbin I
created my own version of a circle stamp. I worked out great and I
didn't have to run out to get a stamp, it's a win win situation. LOL!

Love this cut shape from the Silhouette store. I added random bits of
paper and stitching. Love the white arrows, by using foam dots
they added dimesion.

Oh Snap!!!!

Happy Monday y'all! I hope you had a lovely weekend and were able to
take in some Holidays festivities, did you know that Christmas is in
a month! EEEEKKKK! I better start wrapping gifts otherwise it will
be down to the last minute, like it is on most years.

Today, I have this layout I created of Danika to share. Ever since
receiving her iPod for her birthday, she has been snapping pictures of
anything and everything. She's actually pretty good at it, I love that
she's taking an interest in photography, very proud momma here!
Next step a digital camera and editing in PSE.

I added lots of layers, which has been totally working for me latetly.
I've been trying not to over think things and just do what feels right,
layering feels right at the moment. I added a funny little touch for
Danika, notice the little squirel with the speech bubble? She thought
that was the funniest thing ever, in her words. LOL!!!

A day for cards

Happy Thankgiving to my American friends. I hope you have a lovely
day celebrating with families and friends, please have some stuffing for me!!

Today I'm sharing 2 cards I created for Jillibean Soup. For both cards
I've used my Cameo but in different fashion. For this card, I used the
positive part of the cut and added some stitching on top, because a card
isn't complete without a bit of stitching.

For this card I used the negative part as a mask and some leftovers
of the cut out to fill in the white spots. I think this effect is pretty cool!
I misted the card with Studio Calico Mister Huey Dewey shade, isn't
a beautiful aqua color, one of my fave mist.

Photographing Cards

A while back I had mentionned that I would share my method for taking
pictures of my cards. I've compiled random shots of different photo
shoots to show you my method for obtaining a neutral background
which brings all the focus on the card.

I've converted a used box as a photography box, which I've lined it
with white cardstock. The white cardstock not only provides a neutral
background is also reflects the light very well.

Most of the time I will set this up on my back porch were the light
is optimal,  I will also use a coffee table to prop up my box, this ensure
that it is level. I try to take pictures of my cards on day where
it is overcast, I personally do not like taking pictures on a sunny day
as it will often create shadows.

I take my picture from straight on, sometimes at a slight angle. I also
take multiple shots this way I am sure to always have a least
one good picture.

The last step is to edit my picture, which I do in photoshop. I resize my
picture to 500x500 and crop it to leave a wide frame around the card.

I hope this was useful to you. As you can see my method is not
fancy, I didn't spend tons of money on photo box but this serves
its purpose and works for me.

Tall Tales

This layout has been planned for a long time, Brianna is quite the story
teller and I knew that I just had to document this. She's a very timid
and reserved little girl, but once she starts to talk, she will tell you
these amazing stories, so detailed and complete that we just start to
wonder if she's telling the truth. Of course most of these are made
up but it is so fascinating listening to her talk and tell her tall tales.

I love these polaroid type of cut out frames, they were purchased from
the Silhouette store, I loved them so much that I purchased all 3
different sets, you can bet that you will seeing lots of those on my layouts.

I've been meaning to use this little chipboard lady by Crate Paper for
a very long time, I'm very happy that I was able to include it on this
layout. Again this layout features lots of layers, doilies and some chevron
stamps, these are my go to items at the moments.

You & Me

A short and sweet post today to share on more card I created with
Studio Calico's November card kit - Sock Hop. I'll say it again...
I LOVE LOVE this kit! So very versatile! This time around I created
a softer, more romantic card. I've also used of Studio Calico's cuts with
my Cameo, perfect addition to this card. I do think that there are some
kits left in stock, make sure to check them out here - SOCK HOP KIT.

Together

I have a thing for pictures of the girls with their daddy. I don't know what
it is but it just pulls at my heart, these pictures were no exception.
Brianna was walking hand in hand with Dan, and what you don't
see is that Dan is also carrying Alexia in the snuggly, there is nothing
better than seeing a big strong man being all gentle with his girls.
Ok, enough gushing about my dh, onto some more serious matters...

I created this layout using Studio Calico's most recent collection, Darling
Dear. Love the arrows, as you can see I went a bit overboard. Of course,
another Silhouette cut made its way onto my layout, I really think my
Cameo was the best purchase I've ever made for scrapbooking. I also
added some washi tape, as this layout was created for the November
sketch challenge which is based on Adrienne's stunning layout, I had to
play along! For more details make sure to check out the Freckled Fawn blog.

Best Day

Well this is my last Halloween layout for this season. The Bigs
loved dressing up for school this year, Brianna even had two costumes.
As for Alexia she didn't care what I put on her so this tiny outfit was
perfect for her. Love the tights with the tutu skirt, why can't they make
that for adults?! Just kidding!!!

I used bits and pieces of differents Studio Calico kits that I had around.
Love the stars cut outs from the Studio Calico Cut It Out class, it's
unbelievable how the Cameo has changed the way I scrapbook. I love
using various cuts to layers or add interest to a page. Before I would
simply use embelishements but now my pattern paper goes much
further. I snuck in a bit of washi tape, I have a bit of secret when it
comes to washi tape, I hoard it! Yep, I do! Wow, I feel much better
now that I've admitted it! Ha! So I've been pushing myself to reach
for my tape and use it, afterall I do have plenty to spare. ;)

Love You

What do you do when you have scraps of paper lying around?
Create a card of course!! This card was created with odds and ends
that I had after using up a Studio Calico kit. I also used some
of my very first cuts I made with my Cameo. It's a pretty
simple and easy design, but such a great way to use up scraps.

Later this week I will be sharing a tutorial on photographing
cards, it's nothing fancy, just what works for me.

Captured

Hello friends! Just a reminder that today is the last day to enter
the giveaway, see all the details below. I will draw a winner
this weekend. Good luck to all!

I know I've said it before but I love my Instax camera, this year
I put it to good use on Halloween. Love capturing the different
activities around the house, instant gratification, there's nothing
better. This layout was created using a Studio Calico kit - So Cal,
it wasn't a themed kit but the colors totally worked out for this
Halloween layout.

Don't you just love the little pumpkin flair button at the bottom
of the layout? I recently discovered a stash of older Flair buttons,
if you follow me on Instagram you've seen my discovery, a total score!

I Hope You Dance

Love capturing moments like this one, for me, this is what scrapbooking
is all about. Brianna has taken an interest in dancing, in a house full
of girls we have regular dance parties, which I have to say I think Dan is
too happy to oblige his girls in a regular dance fest, you see my
husband loves to dance, it's actually how we met, but that story is for
another day.

I used my Cameo to cut out the butterflies (which are
included when in the software of the Cameo) and the I hope you dance
title, which is created by Jillibean Soup and can be purchased in the
Silhouette store. Of course added lots and lotd of layers, velum and stitching.

Dan gave me an Instax camera for our anniversary, what a fun little toy
and of course the pictures are perfect for scrapbooking. Now, the
question of the day...have you danced lately?!

Bliss

A big thank you to the awesome response
I received from the giveaway, you guys are
THE best!!! If you haven't entered you have
until Friday to leave a comment at the post below.
Good luck!

Today I'm sharing a lo I created using a Studio Calico kit.
This picture was taken only a couple of months
ago but already Alexia has changed so much!
Right now she is the Queen of the 45 minutes naps,
needless to say that I'm not getting much stuff done
during the day. Good thing she's cute. ;)

Love the stamps in this kit, I decided to layer
them up as part of my journaling.

Again, I went for a soft color combination, I
thought it complimented the picture.
Added lots of layers, seems to be something
I'm doing alot these days. I also included
some velum layers, I'm so glad that it's back in
style, I've always loved velum!

Cards Friday!

Happy Friday friends!
Hope you had a great week and that an
even better weekend is ahead for you.

Today I'm sharing the rest of the cards I created
with Studio Calico's November Card kit.

First up is the Crazy Cool card. I used the green
washi tape to create pattern paper, love how
the arrows go in both directions, thought
that was a fun way to display the tape.

On this card I used glitter to embelish the veneer
feathers. As well, I used the greeting stamp to add words
through out the card. The stamps in this kit is very
versatile, love how the greetings can be used together.

Last but not least a Thank You card which features the November
cut files, added some stitching in the middle of the arrows and lifted
the sides to give the card dimension. I used the label stamp
to embelish the veneer feather.

See ya next week.

So Comfy

This week Jillibean Soup and Maya Road have joined
forces. The DTs have been asked to combine both companies
on a project. I was so happy to hear about this, I love
Maya Road, have always been of fan of their embelishements,
chipboard, diecuts....well you get the point.

I had a blast creating this layout which features the mini
tickets, flower resins and journaling tab.

Added lots of layers, some Cameo cuts (the leaves and
today tab), a bit of stamping and washi. Since this layout
was going to be busy I decided to keep a neutral background.

Make sure to stop by the Jillibean Soup blog and the
Maya Road blog to have a chance to win some awesome goodies.
