Week 24 & Giveaway

I've finally photographed 4 weeks worth of PL. I actually wasn't going to post them because they are all starting to look the same but since I already posted all my PLs to date, I just couldn't stop posting, plus I still post my PL for  Jillibean Soup and if I stopped posting my regular PLs, then some weeks would be missing and my PL tab would be a hot mess, I just can't have that.

So what is there to say about week 24? Hum, not much! Ha! I used a mixed of products, mostly from Studio Calico and some bits I had on my desk. Sorry for the glare in the top left tab, the lighting wasn't the best.

So am I still loving PL? Yep I am. However, I am not putting as much effort as I did before. Why? Not sure, maybe I was trying to impress "people", but honestly I'm not doing PL for "people", I'm doing it for my girls. So I'm taking a very laid back approach to this PL business but I do love documenting our day to day life. It might be a bit challenging when I go back to work but honestly, most of the stuff happens during the weeknights or weekends anyway, so it should still work.

On to some more exciting news, there's a giveaway going on right now on the Jillibean Soup blog, check out this post CHA Summer Giveaway - Jill is showcasing the new collections and is even offering a chance to win some brand new products! Gotta love those giveaways.

In case you haven't seen the new collections here they are, the full reveal is on the Jillibean Soup blog, they are fabulous!!! I just can't wait to play with these awesome new lines.

Stay Classy

Today I'm sharing a layout that I created with the May Hip Kit and the technique add on which features a Studio Calico mask and mist. I decided to make the mask the main focus of my layout by using orange mist and embellishing the misted circles with embellishments and pattern paper circles.

The journaling was created on the October Afternoon diecuts that are included in the kit and randomly placed on the misted circles. I used embellishments from the kits to highlight the circles. As well, stitching was added across each row of circles.

Btw, whenever I look at the title of this layout, I hear Ron Burgundy's famous quote "Stay Classy San Diego" hahaha! Gotta love Will Ferrell!!

Summer Lovin'

You know that moment when you create a layout and it just works, things come together like you had planned, techniques turn out great, the scrapping Gods are in your favour, well that's what happened here. LOL!! Ok, it's a bit extreme but I did this layout in about an hour and it just worked. I used the Hip Kit May kit which contained the awesome triangle template and teal embossing powder. To create the arrow pattern, I applied the mask to the cardstock then pressed down with a versamark ink pad, then applied the embossing powder, I think it turned out great.

The title was created using my Cameo and some wonderful glitter cardstock by American Crafts. I loved the title cut as soon as I saw it on Anabelle O'Malley's stunning layout, and knew I had to use it. I layered the picture using Crate Paper's The Pier ephmera pack, love those packs of goodies, one of my good too item, so I was totally thrilled when I saw that Kimberly had included a pack in the May kit.

Write. Click. Scrapbook. August Sneak

I'm so very excited to be sharing my first sneak for the W.C.S. reveal on August 1st! It will be my first time contributing to the W.C.S. gallery, I can not wait to see what everyone has done. I've used one of my favourite Basic Grey collection, Hey You and some mists and stamps. I look forward to sharing the full layout on August 1st, but in the meantime a little preview will have to do. :)

August Hip Kit

Yep, it's that time and I'm giddy with excitement!!! Here is the reveal of the Hip Kit August kit. I'm posting only the main kit, the add ons can be seen on the website, link to the left.

Isn't it the most gorgeous mix of products?! I can not wait for this kit to land on my front step. The kit is going up for sale today, so if you are interested make sure to check it out.

Everything About You

Well here I am back today with another layout featuring the May Hip Kit and my lovely Cameo. The quote was part of a card that I purchased in the Silhouette store, I just removed the outer part of the card so that only the quote was cut out. I then layered with Crate Paper's red chevron paper, thought it added a funky touch to the layout

Of course I added lots of stitching to my layout, some of it is on top of the title work, the stamping on the left hand side. This layout came together very quickly, only because I had already cut out the title work. :)

Adore Love

This layout was created with the May Hip Kit, I am a bit behind but that's all thanks to the postal service who took its sweet time to deliver my box but its all good because I LOVE this kit. So many awesome papers and the mix of embellishments, stunning!!

Well, in case I haven't said it lately, I love my Silhouette Cameo! I just love how I was able to spice up the white cardstock. The process was very simple, I selected the shape then decided on the layout of the page and cut away. Voila!

Like I said above the embellishments in this kit are awesome, I had a blast layering and adding little bits  and pieces through out this layout. I also added a lot of stitching, but I was on a mission to make this one funky layout and stitching was a must have.

I *heart* You

Happy Monday friends!!! Today I'm sharing a layout that I created for Crate Paper's July challenge - polka dots. How I loved playing along to this challenge, I love polka dots so this one was easy. The background paper was my inspiration, I decided to continue the circle theme by using various circle embellishments by Crate Paper. I layered chipboard, diecuts and sticker circles along the side of the picture. I decided to replace the usual layers under the picture with tags and clothes pin. I thought that adding additional layers would create a too much bulk, tags were the right option.

I love pre-made accordion flowers, I find that making accordion flowers can be a tedious task (at least for me it is) so I'm always happy to see a couple of those flowers in embellishments packages. Again, I decided to type the journaling directly on the photo, I really enjoy doing this, it makes me think of the old polaroid pictures. Even if I didn't win this challenge, I still absolutely love the layout that I created!

Jump

So very excited today to share a layout I created for Come On Get Crafty as their featured designer. I just love the adorable store that Nicole has, always full of the latest and greatest product. I especially like the Crafty Bits Kits she offers. They are so cool and such a great way to get a sample of a lot of products.

I had a blast creating this layout which features some of the Crafty Bits, I've been hoping to get those anchors and sailboats, they are perfect for this layout of the girls.

After misting the starbust shape onto white cardstock, I added stitching and embelishements to the edge of the starbust. Afterwards I proceeded to layer pattern paper to create a base for the photo. The journaling was added directly to the picture using my trusty typewriter.

I hope you'll take a moment to check out Come On Get Crafty. Happy Friday!!!

Splash

How I'm one happy girl! I finally got my hands on The Pier collection by Crate Paper and I'm in love. CP has created another stunning collection, the new ephemera packs and chipboard frames are such a wonderful addition. I've had this picture of Lex for a little while, this past May she had her first beach experience and she loved it! I was waiting for the perfect collection to scrap this picture, I knew that the The Pier would be perfect.

Initially I had 3 frames on the layout (the large white, medium turquoise and small beige), then I added a couple more (the white and red/white), then I thought I was done. But after looking and playing with the frames some more, I added the small white and brown frames, then I was happy. I just can't get enough of those frames and this layout is the exact reflection of this. LOL! I decided to forgo the title, I thought I had plenty of little saying and words to make up for it. Sometimes having no title is just the right thing to do.

June Cards for Hip Kits

Today I'm sharing the cards I created with the June Hip Kit. I really enjoyed creating these cards, I added lots of layers with the Basic Grey diecuts and LilyBee chipboard shapes. I created very simple backgrounds onto which I could create a cluster of embellishment as the main focus of the card. Hope these inspire you to create a couple of cards.

Lucky

Today I'm sharing the last of my layouts created with the June Hip Kits. I've had this picture sitting on my fridge for a very long time, I just love this quote that I found on Pinterest. I thought it was about time I scrapped it.

I used the Maggie Holmes for CP frame as a display for various embellishments from the kits. I layered the BG diecuts, with the SC banner and LilyBee chipboard flower. I love layering embellishments this way, I think it creates a nice little accent for the picture.

Also I used the Jillibean Soup stamp from the add on kit and paired it with the clear embossing powder. When paired with Kraft cardstock, the embossing powder creates a nice soft effect. I repeated the same technique at the top portion of the layout using the butterfly border stamp.

Week 20 with Jillibean Soup

I'm very exicted to share week 20 of my PL, which was created with the latest Jillibean Soup collection, Happy Camper. Talk about the perfect collection to use with my camping pictures! I had put this week aside to work with this new collection, I was so happy to see it land on my front steps a little while back. I can't say enough good things about the Bite Size Cards, again the quotes and design were perfect for a PL, I used 6 cards on this spread.

Week 20 was pretty quiet so I decided to focus my PL on our first camping trip, I included a lot of handwritten journaling and tidbits about the weekend.

The pea pods parts (or die cuts) in this collection are such a cute mix of road signs, cute animals and camping goods, I love incorporating little tidbits through my spread.

I've included a lot of close up pictures, they can be seen on the Jillibean Soup blog, so hop on over if you can.

Perfect Fit

How I love this background paper by Sassafrass Lass, yes I've been hoarding some of my favorite Sassafrass items and this was one that was begging to be used. The circle template was cut using my Cameo and a cut file from the Silhouette online store. I did use a piece of white scrap cardstock that I had tried to use for a creative background of paint and glitter and turned out to be a mess, however when cut into this file it totally works.

The title was created using the amazing POW glitter paper by American Crafts. I'm also hoarding this glitter paper (see a trend here..), it cuts beautifully with the Cameo. To create the title, I used a font of my liking, typed the words in the Cameo software and then welded the letters together, this took about 5 minutes to create, super easy and fast way to create a customize title.

This layout also features the Hey You collection by Basic Grey, love the mix of muted colours with the pop of teal. I also used some Studio Calico butterflies (again that I was hoarding, hum I think I have a problem..) and some Basic Grey chipboard accent. So just another quick layout that was created in less than 2 hours, I feel very productive when I can accomplish this.

Write. Click. Scrapbook. Design Team

Happy Canada Day to all my Canadian friends. We had a lovely day up on Parliament Hill and visiting with family. I love living in our Nation's Capital, there is so much to see and do, it's a gorgeous city. We decided to brave the crowds and head downtown to show the girls what Canada Day was all about, I'm so happy we did, we had an awesome day!!! Here's a scene overlooking the Rideau Canal and the Parliament in the distance. Amazing city!!!

So this explains why I am so late posting my awesome news, I am now part of the Write. Click. Scrapbook. design team!!! I am so grateful and excited to have been asked to join this wonderful team of extremely inspiring ladies!
