Scrap to Win with My Favorite Things

Hello everyone, I'm back today with a second layout I created for My Favorite Things. I hope you have enjoyed seeing my previous post for MFT and their awesome sketch!!! I also hope you will play along, you have a chance at winning a gift card from the MFT store. All the details are posted on the MFT blog - Scrap to Win with My Favorite Things.

This time around I stuck to the design and use tags. I used the circle border die as a mask on the tags, this is just another way that dies can be used, love things that are multi functional. After cutting out the star border, I used the negative part to layer on the cardstock. I also layered a couple of tabs, I love doing that, what's the point of using one tab when two or three can be used!? LOL!! I used yellow ink with the stamp, wish I had gold but yellow had to do, the arrows were cut out and layered with foam dots.

For this layout I used the following products...

A big thank you to Kim and Joanna for all their help and this awesome opportunity. I had a blast using these awesome products. The nice people at MFT were so kind, they even made me a little avatar like the DT members, that makes me happy. :)

Today

I'm back again today with another layout to share. I created this layout with the March Hip Kit. I love this IG pick, not because it's beautiful or original but because it represents one of my favorite time of day, when the girls get off the school bus. I love waiting for them, it's one of things I love most about being at home. I'm there to greet them after school, hear this stories (mostly good ones and the occasional sad one too), feed them a snack and get some cuddles. I just love this time. It's only fitting that I created a layout about it.

I removed a page from the Amy Tangerine notebook to add to the layers. The cut out shape was perfect to add in some journaling. I also just discovered this beautiful Maya Road ribbon tape, I love the thickness of the tape and it's self adhesive, such a bonus.

I hope you get to do something you love today.

Sweetness

I have a layout to share today that I created for Hip Kits using the March kit. How I love that kit!!!! I know I say that about every kit Kimberly puts together but that girl rocks at putting kits together. Every month is amazing and never ever a challenge to use. From past experience, it can be challenging using up kits, especially when the products just don't appeal to you and you feel they were put in a kit because the kit company had a good discount or bought in bulk. Well I never ever feel that way about Kimberly's kit, only the latest and greatest, never a repeat of products, only the best and trendiest collection.

This layout features mostly the Amy Tangerine sticker book, love all the cute little sayings and wanted to make them the focus of my layout.

To achieve this look, I put the stickers on white cardstock which I trimmed, then used foam dots to layers the stickers on my page. Usually my layering happens with the picture, this time it was the opposite. It's nice to change it up from time to time.

Have you seen the April kit that Kimberly has put together?! Pure awesomeness. There's also an add on embellishment kit and technique kit with mists and masks. I am one happy girl!!!

You & Me

Confession time.... I have a soft spot for anything nautical, not sure where my love of anchors comes from, perhaps from that cute nautical outfit I wore as a kid but needless to say that I am totally in love with the new Glitz Design collection Uncharted Waters. Of course as soon as I got this fab line in my hands I had to create a little something.

I love this photobomb picture of Brianna, you can't really see her little face, but she's totally smiling for the camera, she's precious. Love all these random iPhone pics, they are currently my fave kind to scrap. On this layout I added lots of layers which consist of doilies, papers from the uncharted collection and MFT die cut borders. I love the ampersand, I almost didn't use it because I was tempted of hoarding it, but what's the point of beautiful products if they don't make it onto a project?!

Thank you for all the lovely comments and new people that have come from the MFT blog! Thank you for taking a moment and leaving a sweet message, you have warmed my heart.

My Favorite Things - Scrap Sketch Guest Designer

Talk about an awesome surprise, I was asked to play along with My Favorite Things and their April scrap sketch!!! I was sent the most awesome sketch to play with, I was immediately inspired, the ideas and possibilities with this sketch are endless. I created 2 layouts, today I'm sharing the first project.

I slightly modified the sketch to use one picture, instead of tags as featured in the sketch, I used blocks of pp to which I added embellishments and stamped images.

Make sure to pop on over the MFT blog to see the sketch, the designers projects and details on how you can play along. There will be a random draw, the winner will get a GC to the MFT boutique. How awesome is that?!

To create this layout I used the following products from the MFT Boutique. I just love Laina's stamps, the clean lines and trendy images are so perfect for any projects. I'm also a sucker for tabs and borders, love these dies, I've cut a huge pile of these awesome shapes, now I can use them whenever I want.

A big thank you to MFT for inviting me to play along, I hope you will stop by to say hi and maybe even play along with me.

This layout was also created using my January Hip Kit. SO much goodness in that kit, I just keep on going back to it to play.

Week 13 - Jillibean Soup

Yesterday was my second post on the Jillibean Soup blog, I'm so happy that I was asked to contribute to the blog. This a new and fun experience for me.

Week 13 was very busy, lots of pictures, so I kept a simple design, which I discuss on the Jillibean blog. If you are interested in seeing the close up pictures and more details, head on over to the Jillibean Soup blog, link to the right.

You might be wondering why only 3 of the 5 ^ of us appear in the shadow picture, well Alexia was in her stroller and Bri had no interest in being the picture, cant force a 4 year old to join us when she's made up her mind that a shadow picture is pretty ridiculous. Ha!

Monday Cards

Good morning friends! What a beautiful week it will be, after the snowstorm we had last Friday, this week is a forecast of sunshine and 15+ weather. YAY!!! Today I would like to share my last 2 cards I created with the Hip 2B Square Feb kit.

On this card I wanted to create a cluster of embellishment to focus on the greeting. I love the chevron paper which I only added to the top portion of the card, love doing to that on my layouts as well. Then using the Dear Lizzy roller stamp, I stamped the same message multiple time on the label.

I love the Studio Calico polaroid frames that were included in the kit. I thought they are the perfect accent for cards and layouts. On this particular card it is the main focus. I added some layers with the Glitz Design sticker, Amy Tan buttons. The greeting is by Fancy Pants, love that adorable quote.

Hope you have a beautiful week.

Week 12

This spread took FOREVER to complete, a whole week!!! Between the kids (which includes the DH) being sick with colds and the baby teething, I would only work on the spreads for a little bit at a time. I'm not thrilled with the end result but it's about preserving moments and memories, right?!

Used a mix of PL cards from Studio Calico, along with some Cameo cuts.

I wanted to include Brianna's cut drawing of the family, see Alexia who is "lying" down in mid air, precious!! Since the drawing was way too big for my PL, I decided to take a picture of it, I do like how it turned out.

I love the picture of Bri's tiny hands made up with jewellery and nail polish. With 3 girls, this is a common occurrence, even Dan has to participate in these activities, it's mandatory (as per the girls).  It also obvious that this would make it's way into my PL.

I've been pretty good at staying on top of my PL, week 13 is completed, now I'm taking a breather to do some layouts, which I haven't done any in almost a month and afterwards I'll be tackling week 14 and 15 at the same time. How are you doing with your PL? Are you behind or up to date?

Greetings Galore

I am back today with 2 more cards that I created with the Feb Hip Kit. Again, quick and simple was my method, I'm happy of the end result. For this card I trimmed the chevron patter and applied it to the card using very thin foam dots. Then I added embellishments to create a cluster that would guide the eye to the greeting. I applied the washi tape to white cardstock, then trimmed it and attached it to the card with my sewing machine. Love the simplistic look of this card.

My main focus on this card was the cut out card, I have a lot of cards like that on hand, mostly for my PL, but they are also very practical for card making. Then the greeting was most challenging but once I found the speech bubble star I new that I would go for a star them and greeting. The Fancy Pants pattern paper was the icing on the cake, and just like that my card was done. I love it when that happens.

Cards, more cards

I love making cards, but I've always "over analyzed" my design process, I would spend way too much time pondering if this way right on a card or if I should more color, stitching, etc... Since I now have less time to craft, I decided to just go with it and make cards, not to analyze the process too much. I just wanted to have fun, and I did!!! I create 6 cards with the February Hip Kit. YAY me!!!

I love the Glitz Design paper in this month's kit and thought the 3x4 cards would be perfect for a card. On this card I trimmed down the "hi there stranger" greeting, paired with washi tape and punched a whole which is the perfect spot for a button that is in the kit. It's a fun quick card that could work for any gender and any event.

Again in this card I used the Glitz Design greeting, paired it with speech bubbles which I stamped on a greeting using the AC stamp in the kit. Added black washi tape for contrast and more color.

I will be back later this week with more cards that I created with the February Hip Kit.

If you follow the Jillibean Soup blog, you might have noticed that things have changed a bit. I'm now presenting a bi-weekly feature called Life Album. I'm showcasing ways to incorporate Jillibean Soup products in your PL spread. I'm very excited about this new feature, I have so much to share. I hope you will pop on over the blog to check it out.

You can see all the details of this spread and my creative process behind this page on the Jillibean Soup blog - Life Album.  I hope you'll join me.

Project Life Week 10

Good morning friends. I am back today with week 10. This is one of my favorite spreads to date. Love the color combo and all the fun things that happened that week. My good friend Isabelle came to visit with her son, it was way too long since I had last seen her.

I used a mix of supplies for this spread, some cards from the March SC PL kit, some SC printables, misc. embellishments and stickers.

I also incorporated the packaging to my favorite brand of Tassimo coffee. This is my fuel, what keeps me going through out the day. I didn't use to be a coffee drinker but having 3 kids totally changed that. I did learn a couple of day ago not to have coffee in the evening, I was completely awake, listening to everyone else sleep. Not good.

Off to drink my coffee...

Worn With Love

Today I'm sharing a layout I created with the February Hip Kit. I've said it many times, I love that kit. I'm hoarding every little piece of scrap paper because I just can't get enough of it. I do think there are a couple left in the Hip Kit store.

The subject of this layout is near and dear to my heart. It's about the onesie. I bought this onesie when I found out I was pregnant with Danika, 9 years ago and gave it to the Mr. as a way to announce that I was expecting. At first, he didn't understand the meaning of the gift, he thought it was for sometime in the future but once I told him I was expecting, he was the happiest man on earth. Ever since, all 3 girls have worn this onesie, I'm sad that it wont' be worn again but also very happy. We are done having babies and I'm FINE with that. LOL!!! I do think the onesie will be preciously kept to pass down to the girls when they have babies, yikes!!!

I love the background paper by Elle's Studio, I flipped the page sideways to have the printed border at the top. I added some Cameo cuts that I had pre cut, I always keep a stash of pre-cut cuts, this way I always have some on hand and can quickly put a layout together. As much as I love my Cameo, I find it time consuming to stop a layout to search for a cut and cut it out. Yeah, I'm lazy that way. I usually have 30 to 45 minutes to create a layout, so I have to be quick quick.

Happy Monday, hope the sun is shining.
