So very excited...

to be joining the Jillibean Soup DT for another term!

Working with Jill and Kimber for the past 2 1/2 years has
been such an amazing experience, I am so happy to get
to enjoy this team for another year!!!
Welcome to all the news girls on the team, looking
forward to working with each one of you.
It has also been a pleasure working with the ladies
that are not returning, you are all so inspring,
I wish you all the best with your future scrappy projects.

Hexies challenge

This month, the Big Bean aka Jill from Jillibean Soup,
challenged the DT to use the new Hexies on a project.
I love the new Hexies, they are such a great addition to any project.
You can see them all listed here on 2 Peas, shop Jillibean Soup

For my challenge I decided to create a layout using a mix
of the Hexies, I did take it one step further and used
the negative part of the sticker sheet as a mask.
Talk about double use for you buck!!!

The negative part of the sticker sheets peels off very easily,
all you have to do is trim off the edges, place on your project
very lightly without applying any pressure (otherwise it will stick
on your page) and mist away. Remove the mask using tweezers
or plyers right away. Voila, a very easy way to create a mask.

Favorite NYC Moment

Yep, I'm still scrapping pics from our NY trip!!!
What can I say, we had a blast!
We still talk about it and already planning
our trip for next Fall.

This layout was create using the September
Studio Calico Kit - Central High and creted using
the Sunday Sketch, which was based on a layout
by the fabulous Marcy Penner!!!

Love the mix of Basic Grey papers, Amy Tangerine
embelishments and Studio Calico die cuts.
This was a fun a layout to put together!

Loved loved loved walking with Dan in Central Park!
Loved it!

Layout to Card #2

Today I am presenting another layout to card
edition. This time I used this layout to create my card.

The layers of paper were the main focus for this lift.
As well, the title, or greeting placement pretty much
remained the same.

This is such a fun and easy to use up supplies
and create a card! Adding stitching to the layers
of paper really added depth and dimension.

Hope this inspires you to try out the layout to card technique.

9 years

I'm back today with a new layout to share!
I've finally had time to play with this month's Studio Calico
kit, Central High. Love the mix of the products in this kit!

Dan and I have been together since we were 15 years old,
so that's 20 years (still to this day I count my lucky star
that I walked in to him at our high school dance.)
We have been married for almost 9 years, coming up
in October. Of course, we've had our ups and down,
which married couple hasn't, but he's my rock and I wouldn't
want to share this life with anyone else. (Ok, he'll probably
think this is sappy and too much info, sorry honey,
just proclaiming my love to you!!!)

I've been meaning to try out the pie chart trend that
has been popping up everywhere, I had fun making mini
pie charts! This month's kit includes lots of new
Amy Tangerine, love the fun patterns and the stickers/
diecuts are FABULOUS!!!

Hello Hipster

This summer we found a totally hip hat for Danika,
she looked so adorable with it! Of course this made its
way onto a lo!!! Again I used more Heyday by Studio Calico,
in fact I used the 6x6 paper pad, love these!!!

Again, I went for a neutral background, lots of layers
and some stamping. Stitching around the edges gives this
layout as soft distressed look without being too grungy.
I'm also continuing the purge of my stash, used a badge
which I've been holding onto for a while, some older
Thickers and chipboard shapes by Crate Paper.
I think this combo works..

Layout to Card - Hi Friend

Today is the first installement of my new blog feature titled,
Layout to Card, I hope you like it!!!!

In order to save time and use up my supplies, I've decided
that once I've completed a layout, I would recreate the same
design but in a card. Since all the supplies are already at
hand and the design is already established, this process
takes very little time, at the most 15 minutes. I can't
think of a better way to create greeting cards to have on hand.

For my first attempt at the Layout to Card process, I used this layout
(also seen below) as my starting off point.

The design is the same, I just created some of the items
on a smaller scale, for example, instead of using
a regular doily, I used a small doily by
Martha Stewart. The effect remains the same.

I hope this shows how easily and quickly you can create
a card and that I've inspired you to do the same.
If you do try the Layout to Card concept, make sure to
leave me a message with a link to your creation, I would
love to see it!!!!

Big Love

What!? A blog post and a layout 2 days in a row?!
Yep, I do have a tiny bit more time on my
hands since the bigs are in school.

Again today, I used the Heyday Collection,
6x6 paper pad. Honestly, the paper pad is the
way to go for me, it gives me a sample of the
whole collection and since I rarely use
large pieces of a pattern paper on a layout,
they are pefect for my layouts and cards.

Do you notice an older item on here?!
If you guessed the Heidi Swapp clear heart you
are correct. I think these were hot about 3 or 4
years ago, since I'm using my stash, I've pulled
these out, love how they look, perfect for layering.

Happy Friday y'all!!!!

Always

Can I get a BIG hooray!?
I've been digging in my stash of supplies
and finally using some products I've been
hoarding! I've been working with
the fabulous Heyday collection by Studio Calico.
Boy oh boy do I love this collection!!
The color palette is perfect for pics of
the girls, I'm in love.

And yes, I have fallen victim of the white/beige
background, I love how everything just stands out
agains the pale background. It adds a soft and
dreamy feeling to the layout, or maybe it's
all in my head?! ;)

In any case, I've pulled out lots of older supplies
to create this layout, CP chipboard shapes from
the wedding collection (sorry forget the actual name),
Studio Calico alpha letters, October Afternoon
mini market stickers, lots of older goodies!!!

Birthday Cards for Jillibean Soup

In honor of Jillibean Soup's 4th birthday,
the DT created some pretty fabulous cards.
Make sure to stop by the blog to check them out.
These are the cards I created, I loved using
the new Soup Staples for this first card.
The chevron pattern is perfect!!!

Using multiple circles punches, I created circles
for a  layered effect.

For this second card, I used my Slice to
create a Cameoish (if that's a term) effect!

On this card I also incorporated some Soup
Staples, they coordinate so very well
with all of the Jillibean Soup collection.
