Favorites 2009

Since I don't have anything scrappy to share, I thought I would share with you some of my favorite 2009 projects. This year was a busy one for me, at one point I had 2 online DTs, one challenge blog and a magazine DT on the go. In order to create balance in my life I have left all DTs except Love Is In The Details. It was a tough decision but I do not regret it. Sometimes less is more!!! So here are my 9 favorite projects of this past year...

Jillibean Soup Altered Welcome Frame: featured on the Jillibean Soup blog
One of A Kind: lo created with a kit from LIITD
The places you'll go: a just for fun lo!

How Many Takes: lo created as Guest Designer for Jillibean Soup.
Rock Collector: lo created with a kit from Scrapbook Circle
Precious Friend: lo created for Canadian Scrapbook magazine cover contest
Altered Sleigh: project created with a LIITD kit.
Merry Christmas frame: project created with a chipboard tree by Crate Paper.
Altered bird house: project created for LIITD using Jillibean Soup products.
I really wonder what 2010 will bring! Maybe a manufacturer DT?! That would be sweet!!! Or mabye be published in CK or Scrapbook Ect! Oh man, that would be so awesome! A girl can dream!!! :P

I'm tagging my LIITD fellow DT members and owner (Lori) to share on their blogs their own favorite projects for 2009. Come on Lori, Lisa, Chelsea, Amber, Melissa and Cindy, I want to see your favorite projects that you have created in 2009!!!

Day Time Cover - First Attempt!

For the longest time I've been thinking of little things I would like to create using felt. I never had the time to drive out to the frabic store but earlier this week, I made time to stop by. I can say that I was little overwhelmed by all the frabic, items, tools for sewing. I guess this is what it feels like for a non-scrapbooker to enter in a scrapbooking store! ;) Anyways, I found some fabulous inexpensive felt, some fun fabrics and voila I was set to start some projects. So today during nap time (gotta love nap time) I quickly created my prototype for my day time cover project. I plan on doing lots of these babies for some fabulous friends and I wanted to practice first as I am not a really good sower. Along the way I made notes and reminders for my next projects. This one isn't great, I'm not giving it to anyone, probably Danika will end up getting up but it was my learning experience and I really enjoyed it!!!

Tonight I'm eating pizza, watching The Hangover and wrapping gifts. Of course I'm not doing this alone, Dan has to help me. There are too many gifts to wrap! Once I'm done I just might come down to the basement and work on another felt cover! teeeehhhheeeee! ;)

Holiday Keepsakes & a Toot!!!

I have a toot to share!!!

I was sooooo very excited to be approached by Emily from Stamping Bella who invited me to be part of her DT!!! Wooohoooo!!! She has fabulous stamps that I will get to play with every month! How fabulous is this!!!??? I will be featuring her stamps on my los, I'm really excited about this new opportunity! Thank you Emily for the vote of confidence. I think this will be wonderful! So I am now a Bellarific Scrapping Babe!!! Gosh I love that name!!! Teeheee!!!

I also have a lo to share! It was created for Love Is In The Details using the December kit - Chance of Flurries. I love the CP line of paper that is featured in the kit!!!! I also used some Maya Road Mist on the lo! I love MR mist! I could mist everything in my house but I don't think that Mr. Blackburn would be too happy with me. Teeeheeee. ;)

That's all for today folks!!! I feel my regular scrapping groove slowly coming back and I am totally loving it!!!

5 days before Christmas

and am I ready? NOPE!!! It's ok, I love the madness of this time of the year, the craziness in the stores ( minus my kids there because then it's just no fun), wrapping gifts on Christmas Eve. Love it! And I wouldn't have it any other way. My life is so busy, I don't have the luxury in being prepared weeks in advance, that just doesn't happen here, so I've learned to embrace my "down to the wire" Christmas shopping! LOL!!!

Thank you to everyone that left a comment to my previous post. The service for my grand-ma was beautiful, I even managed to read a speach with my brother. It was very therapeutic to reminesce about good times with grand-ma in front of the parish, friends and family. Now only time can heal the pain.

I haven't been scrap lately but I do have 2 los to share. These were my last 2 los as DT member of Scrapbook Extra magazine. The first lo I had to use office supplies and the second no picture. They were published in the fall issue.

I also have some awesome scrappy news!!! I will be sharing in very shortly! Gotta love it when an opportunity comes knocking!!! :)

Thanks for the visit friends. M!

I'm still here...

Sorry for the long absence. Things have been sad around here...

My grand-ma passed away last Friday morning. She had been unconscious since Monday, I got to her bedside on Monday evening and stayed there on and off, between work, home and family until my parents arrived from South Carolina on Tuesday night. My grand-ma put up a fight 'til the end when she passed away while holding my dad's hand. I was by her side not too long after she passed and saw her at peace... It is hard to lose a loved one, to see your parents in pain and struggling with the loss. I have very found memories of my grand-ma, especially about food (but isn't that the way with grand-ma's? their food is always soooooo much better! She's the only one that ever got me to eat prunes!!!!) The next couple of days will be hard as we are saying our final goodbyes. I'm still not ready...

So I will be back when life has settled down a bit ...

Chance of Flurries!!!

Today is reveal day on Love Is In The Details. This month I designed a kit with the wonderful Collage Press papers Joyride. This collection is divine!!!! I believe that this is the first time Collage Press is available in Canada. I'm totally excited about this!!! The kits are limited so if you are interested in this collection I would suggest you hurry up!

I have so much stuff left over that I have a couple more projects on the go! Gotta love that!!!

Thanks for all the kind wishes in my last post. Danika is doing much better, Brianna is a trooper and fighting that cold. We had a fabulous weekend together, it's always sooo short, I hate it when Sunday night arrives but I did get 2 whole days with my babes and they were so much fun! Gotta be grateful for those sweet moments.

Off to rest before another wicked week!!! Thanks for the visit friends.

Scrapbook Circle Blog Hop!!!

Welcome to the very first Scrapbook Circle blog hop!!!

All the fun started at the Scrapbook Circle blog! Then kept on going to Claude and Stacy. Now you are here. ;) Make sure to keep on hoping to Diana, Lisa and the SC blog!!!

Lisa is generously giving away one December kit to a lucky winner!!!! There is one rule, to be eligible to win the kit, you must leave a comment on every blog!!! I think that's not much work for such a fabulous kit! Make sure to end your visit at the SC blog and tell us you have visited all the blogs! As well, I will be giving out a RAK (full of bling) to a random person that left a comment on my blog. ;)

Today I am sharing a fun project that I created with the chipboard pieces that are include in the December kit. I loved this Christmas, I used some glitter powder and add some jewels for the ornaments. I found an old frame that I had put away and altered with crackle paint. Voila! The tree is part of the kit, all remaining items are from my supplies. This look can easily be recreated with bling, pearls, glitter paint, the possibilities are endless!!!

Thank you for hoping along, if you haven't make sure to join in on the fun!!! On to the next blog, Diana!!!!

The Boardwalk

Happy Friday everyone!!! I'm so happy the week is over, I get to spend two full days with my girls!!! YAY!!!

I have a lo to share tonight, I've had this picture for a long time (obviously, it's me at 5 years old) and I was waiting for inspiration to hit. I did this lo just for fun, no expectations, just trying out new things and I had fun! Love how it turned out! I can't resist October Afternoon papers, I especially love this collection Road Map. I have very little of it, so I've been hoarding it. LOL!!!I also used my trusty circle punch and pop dots to add dimension to the Bazill.

Thanks for the visit! I hope you will have a fabulous weekend. We are putting up our Christmas decorations and going to the Parade of Lights tomorrow night.

Precious Friend

I was so thrilled to receive an email from Jackie from Canadian Scrapbooker asking me if I wanted to participate to the cover challenge for the winter issue! Of course I said yes!!! It's such an honor to be approached and invited to participate to a contest like this! My lo was chosen to be part of the Top 4! Even cooler!!! I didn't get the cover but I still think that my lo rocks and that's what matters, isn't?!

You can see the winter cover here.

Thanks for the love friends. It's always so apprecited!!!

My kind of Holiday Baking

I'm not one to bake or cook very much for the Holidays. We don't host Christmas at our home, we go to my parents or Dan's parents, but one thing I do like to do with Danika is to bake chocolate chip cookies. I've been using a Betty Crocker recipe for a long time, ever since my brother gave me a cook book when we lived with my parents. Maybe he was trying to hint that I should learn how to cook, it didn't work! LOL!!!

I used left over scraps from the November kit at Love Is In The Details - PepperMint Dreams. There are only a couple left in stock so if you've been thinking about it I would hurry up at grab the last one left before they are gone. The red stars are from the Prima star branch that was in another kit. I love those stars, I really can't get enough of stars. It's disapointed that not many scrapbooking companies produce star embelishements. I've been rellying on my trusty Cuttlebug to create stars for my los!

I hope that you had a beautiful Saturday! And to all my American friends I wish you a fabulous Thanksgiving!!!

Tweet Noel - The Birdhouse

I'm currently on a altering kit!!! I wonder who's fault that is!? LOL!!!!

When I saw this birdhouse at Micheals I knew I had to alter it. I used LIITDs November kit - PepperMint Dreams - which features Jillibean Soup products that I couldn't resist.

This is what came out of this project....

I used crackle paint to create a snowy effect on the edges of the birdhouse.

It was a long project but I did enjoy the creative process. Now I wonder what I will alter next!

Thanks for the visit!
